A Day at the Park with the Kids & a New Camera

Boy Oh Boy was it fun! The kids were all hamming it up for me, the weather was beautiful and we had fun! What more could we ask for when our Daddy is away in the mountains for 3 days with college buddies??! I have been so blessed this week. After a rough first day, the last 2 days with the kids have been amazing. I am so proud of Jack & Olivia! They have really stepped it up a notch for me this week and have been so very helpful! Of course, we all can't wait for Rob to get home tomorrow! :-)
Check out the pictures from today below.

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful day, and I quote, "The best Christmas, EVER!" (read with emphasis). The kids slept surprisingly late (we had to wake them up!) I fixed prime rib for lunch and the kids didn't fight over their new toys. In fact, they were so excited to share everything, it was really quite sweet! We're so proud of our 3 little ones! They are a tremendous blessing everyday!
We hope you all have a wonderful week in the after glow of Christmas! :-)

Santa's Vacation Home is in our Neighborhood!

You heard me right! He lives in our neighborhood and is in his front yard to visit with kids until Christmas Eve. How, might you ask, can he get everything done while still being here? Well, the kids asked and he said that the elves are busy, of course. And, Mrs. Claus is out currently getting new equipment and supplies for the night! Ha Ha! This was great fun. I got the chance to take my new camera and lens out for a spin- using only available light! Wahoo! Olivia was so full of wonder! Jack, being the boy he is, held his emotions a little tighter to the vest. :-) Sophie was not so sure what to think, as you can tell from her expression. I think she was only there long enough for me to grab this picture before she started crying! It was so much fun to surprise the kids with this tonight. Only problem now is, I have to go back to the store to add a few more things under the tree, as the only things that Olivia asked for were things I had forgotten about! Oh the joy and wonder of it all!
And, to make this a very special week, Olivia had her spiritual birthday Monday night, after many months of trying to decide if asking Jesus to be in her life was something she was really interested in! It was so sweet.
Merry Christmas to all of you!

It's Official

Well, after many sleepless nights, I have officially decided to name my photography business Kiralisa Photography. A few years back, when I first started out to open my own business I was deciding between True Life Photography and Bella Luce Photography. I chose Bella Luce (pronounced luchay) because I loved that it meant "beautiful light" in Italian. Since then, however, businesses have been popping up all over the place with bella in the name. Plus, there are two different Bella businesses just in photography. So, I wanted to come up with something else. Many people thought I should just use my name and go with Lisa Thomas Photography. But, since Lisa Thomas is one of the most common names in America, apparently, I really wanted to go with something more original for my branding. So, how did I come up with Kiralisa you ask? In Russia I went by Kira, as Lisa pronounced in Russian is a fox and I really didn't want to be called a fox :-) I feel that name is as much a part of me as Lisa and had considered just using Kira photography for a short while when someone recommended using Kiralisa. It grew on my quickly and now I love it. So, for now I am looking to find a designer for my website- www.kiralisa.com and my logo. I will let you know when the site is ready to go live!
Have a great week and thanks for reading!

Zach

Zach is my cousin and his mom asked me to do a senior shoot for him while I was home for Thanksgiving. I am in the middle of editing it all, but here are several to get you started. Thanks, Janette for helping me so much that day! I really do appreciate it! :-)
